NEW FEATURE! WAIS App for Android (Roman Zhovtulya, USA, 03/29/15 7:33 am)

Dear WAISers:

For over a month we've been working on a WAIS app for Android, iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod) and Windows Phone devices. The app will make it even easier and faster to access and enjoy WAIS content on mobile devices.

It includes features such as "overview/recent posts" "search," "categories," "community," 'social networks," as well as many other features.

More importantly, it will also allow WAIS to reach a much broader audience through the Google Play store for Android (over 1 billion users worldwide), AppStores for iOS (over 800K users) and Windows Phone Marketplace (over 6 million users).

Today, we'd like to present the first version for any Android device (phone, tablet, watch, TV).

Please go to the Google Play Store on your Android and search for "WAIS Forums."

Here's the direct link:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ionicframework.waisapp653107

Our developers will be happy to hear your feedback.

JE comments:  We've been talking for years about a dedicated WAIS "app," and now this reality is here.  Apps are like candy for the younger demographic, and we believe this will be a way to bring fresh voices to our conversations.

So which tech-savvy, intrepid WAISers will be the first to take the plunge?  (I'm app-o-phobic, but this week Roman has promised me a Skype tutorial.)

The iPhone app is in the pipeline.  How many of you know that Apple charges $100 per year to make a free app available in its store?  Why do you think they're sitting on $178 billion in cash?

  • WAIS App for Android (Randy Black, USA 03/29/15 2:39 PM)
At 10:11 on this glorious Sunday morning, the first weekend in the past seven without rain across North Texas, I took the WAIS plunge on my Android smart phone. I downloaded the WAIS app, it installed in about 15 seconds and voila, I was able to search, read, and enjoy WAIS!

Congratulations to Roman Zhovtulya and his developers for the outstanding achievement. Five stars!

JE comments: I'm delighted, Randy! Luciano Dondero has also joined the ranks as a Beta Tester, and so far, the WAIS App works in Italy, too.

Who else? Here, once again, is this morning's post:
