"Share it" Feature for WAIS Posts (Roman Zhovtulya, USA, 02/08/15 2:26 pm)Dear WAISers:
Over the last few days, we've been quietly rolling out some new features that will make the new WAISWorld.org portal even more social.
From now on, you can share your favorite WAIS posts with your friends even easier, using our one-click "share it" buttons that are prominently placed below every post (both on the website and e-mail messages).
To see the buttons in an email message, make sure to show (allow downloading of) images in your mail client.
Simply clicking one of the buttons (Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, etc.) will take you to a "share it" page, which will allow you to share that particular WAIS post in your Twitter feed, Facebook wall, etc. This way all your Twitter followers, Facebook friends, and so on will get to see the story you like. You will be able to confirm the posting (and add some text) on the next page, to prevent any "inadvertent" sharing.
The currently supported social networks are Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Tumblr.
Alternatively, you can also use simple e-mail to forward the post link.
There you have it: "Share it" via e-mail. Old meets new!
JE comments: Who would ever have thought that e-mail is Old School? I urge the Social Media-literate citizens of WAISworld to take advantage of these share features. Roman and I have brainstormed a great deal during the last few weeks, and the new features will open WAIS up to a new (and yes, younger) audience. As youngsters might say, this is something I'm "stoked" about.
Coming relatively soon: the WAIS App!
Thank you, Roman! I should Tweet that.
