PostWAISworld's New Website (Randy Black, USA, 01/20/15 7:31 am)
I am enjoying our new website. Congratulations to all who worked on it, including of course, IT Director Roman Zhovtulya.
Is there an app for that?
JE comments: Does Randy Black mean a WAISworld app, or an "attaboy" app? Am I the only one in the Free World who has never downloaded an app? (I stress "free world," as I've heard of one guy in North Korea who doesn't even know what an app is.)
As I said yesterday, I am proud of the look and functionality of our remodeled website. The biggest improvement will be noticed by users of hand-held devices, as the formatting now adjusts perfectly to the palm of your hand. Previously, people who accessed WAIS content on their phones had to do a lot of sliding and two-finger enlarging. Now this work is done for your automatically.
Will I be able to edit and post on my phone? No: I need a real keyboard.
If you haven't already done so, take the new website out for a spin (waisworld.org or wais.stanford.edu), and send me your thoughts. Also, I will start updating the content of our "slider" feature every day, as soon as I figure out how to do this! If you have WAISly photos you'd like to see featured on our homepage, let me know.
And thank you for the warm and fuzzies, Randy.
