Anthony and Mary Mahowald, University of Chicago emeriti, spent a year at Stanford and made many friends. Mary writes: Tony forwarded to me your proposal about renaming the Hoover Tower.? What a great idea!? Although in my
cynicism I doubt others will pick up on it, I certainly wish they would. RH: The posting attracted a .lot of attention. The proposal would seem to be a win-win one, but, institutional inertia being what it is, all I can do is to wait patiently, perhaps fifty years.
