WAISworld.org Portal Launch--Problems and Solutions (John Eipper, USA, 09/24/10 3:49 am)I've heard from several WAISers that they haven't been receiving postings since the Big Switch of Sunday, September 19th. That was the day we inaugurated WAISForums on waisworld.org, a bit ahead of our original schedule, but Stanford University's e-mail servers were no longer allowing me to bulk-send postings to our 250-strong "bcc" list. I've learned that Hotmail and AOL customers in particular have been left in the dark. Are you in that unfortunate group? If so:
Check your spam/bulk/"junk" folder. Is there anything there from WAISForums? Enter "[email protected]" and "[email protected]" into your "Safe List" and that should fix the problem.
And please: if you've been denied your daily diet of WAIS wisdom since Sunday, do not suffer in silence! Let me know (but check your spam folder first), and Roman Zhovtulya and I will see what we can do to make things right.
Thanks to all who have written with suggestions and critiques of the waisworld.org Web Portal. Two comments for now: I am working on sending the e-mails in a larger font (6 point is very tough on the eyes!), and I hope to have the nations listed for all our correspondents before the end of the weekend. WAISworld.org has an automated system for posting content, and it is not possible for me to enter the nationality information manually.
Any other suggestions? Thank you for your patience as we work through the teething problems related to the Big Switch. Pax et lux.
