PostA Coronavirus Drug Regimen? (Marga Jann, -UK, 03/22/20 6:56 am)
The information below has been shared by the nursing dean of our university, who received it from colleagues in healthcare in Taiwan. It's also being shared on French media:
Treatment course for coronavirus: Hydroxychloroquine 200 mg, three times a day for 10 days, for a total of 30 tablets.
In addition, Azithromycine 500 MG for day 1, and then 250 MG a day for 10 days with total of 12 (250 mg) tablets.
JE comments: A Big Pharma fun-fact: one dose of chloroquine wholesales for 4 cents in much of the world, and retails for over $5 in the US. I presume hydroxychloroquine is a slight variation on the former drug. Who can walk us through the chemistry?
Although we're cautioned against it, expect a lot of chloroquine/hydroxychloroquine self-medication (and overdoses) in the coming days.
