WAIS Statement in Support of Ukrainian People
We, the undersigned members of the World Association of International Studies (WAIS), a worldwide, non-partisan organization of experts on International Affairs, deplore and condemn the war unleashed by President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin on the Ukrainian people. No dispute in today`s world can be resolved through such barbaric means, and we urge an immediate stop to the violence. .

For me, research into one´s family background is a means of feeling a personal connection with history--enabling me to relate to historical events that my own flesh and blood participated in. Imaginatively stepping into an ancestor´s shoes (or armour, as you will read below).
