PostCONFERENCE on GLOBALIZATIONS: A book on (Ronald Hilton, USA, 08/18/01 8:51 am)
Again I must that all who helped make the conference a great success. I have received from a London publisher a request to submit a proposal for publishing a volume of the proceedings. Indeed, I have no doubt that several publishers would be interested in such a volume. A number of panelists have inquired about this. Here then is my proposal:
We could not proceed without the agreement of the panelists. Each chairman would be responsible for his section of the book. He should therefore consult the members of his panel and obtain their consent. I would be responsible for overall supervision of the project, laying down ground rules with the consent of the chairmen. The panelists would submit their papers by e-mail to the chairmen, who would edit them and forward the final product to me. I would vet each section, consulting the chairmen about any questions I may have. This is the general proposal.
The first step is for the chairmen to consult the members of their panel and inform me of the response. Comments from others would be helpful. I look forward to receiving responses from the chairmen, and I would ask that they act on this with all reasonable diligence. Cordially, Ronald Hilton.
