It seems like there still is a discussion of what democracy is. As I am influenced and encouraged by many WAISers, I have written a piece on democracies, and now it is available on-line. I would like to hear your comments.

JE comments: Congratulations to our prolific traveler and essayist, Tom Hashimoto. I am especially interested in the insight Tom provides on South Korea and Taiwan as possible examples of "halted" democracies. Might the US be in this camp?
