I forgot to mention in my previous post that Krivoshein as brigade commander was the Soviet officer linking with the Germans after September 17, 1939, when the Soviet Union invaded Poland.
As a historical curiosity, Krivoshein met with none other that German General of Panzertruppe Heinz Guderian.

JE comments: I'm at a loss for an adjective to describe this historic photo. (It is featured in Krivoshein's Wikipedia bio.) Bizarre? Uncanny? Disturbing? The Jewish tank guru Semyon Moiseevich Krivoshein posing with the legendary Guderian in a victory parade to celebrate their joint obliteration of Poland? Guderian is in the center.
