Noam Chomsky: "Trump is Worse than Hitler" (Tor Guimaraes, USA, 08/27/20 11:44 am)

One of the smartest, for sure best-informed American patriots who ever lived is this fellow Noam Chomsky. Why we can't have wise people like him as our leaders is the disgrace of our nation.

Not to be too politically controversial, he also does not think the Democrats are much better, and he sure has a great apolitical understanding of social political economics. Despite his Jewish background, Chomsky thinks that Trump is worse than Hitler because the latter was not carelessly destroying mankind with America as the vehicle.

JE comments: I watched all 30 minutes of the interview, and it's unfortunate that Chomsky's "Trump worse than Hitler" soundbite is what most listeners will remember.  In this recent interview, Chomsky (Chomsky!) otherwise comes across as thoughtful, even avuncular, with his eloquence and gentle wisdom.  Particularly heartening is his faith in grassroots citizen engagement for swaying the massive ship of public policy.  Isn't this the essence of democracy?  He also touches here on "cancel culture" and the inherent bias of the mainstream media.

Going strong at 91, Chomsky still has much to say.  Tor, thanks for pointing us to him.
