PostForeign-Born US Governors (Edward Jajko, USA, 10/07/19 7:50 am)
To add to Alan Levine's response to Barbara Molas, 72 US state governors have been foreign-born. The only one currently serving is Kate Brown, born in Spain.
Of course there were the two whose terms ended in 2011, Jennifer Granholm of Michigan (JE, how could you forget?), born in Canada, and our own Arnold Schwarzenegger, born in Austria. Not to forget the Founding Father and Broadway show subject, the Bahamian Alexander Hamilton.
JE comments: Absolutely, Ed. I wasn't talking about governors, though I should have. Oregon's Kate Brown was an Air Force baby, born at the now-closed US base in Torrejón. I did mention Granholm's Canadian birth eons ago on WAIS (in this 2007 post, to be exact).
