PostIdeology vs Facts: Climate Change and Beyond (Tor Guimaraes, USA, 11/06/18 3:03 pm)
First, my best wishes to Eugenio Battaglia in recovering from this incredible disaster: a tornado from the Alps destroying whole patches of forest. Has that ever happened before? I never heard of it.
I was worried that Eugenio might be able to fulfill my interest in purchasing some of his freshly squeezed olive oil. After reading his last post, I hope he can fill the order at his earliest convenience.
John Eipper commented: "Abnormal weather is the new normal. Ideology is a powerful force, but it's getting harder and harder for climate-change deniers to cling to their beliefs."
You will be surprised. Blind faith in religious beliefs or ideology tends to last until cataclysmic events change crazy minds when it is too late. Holocaust deniers, climate-change deniers, Zionists' do-or-die attitude about Eretz Israel, Islamic extremists' do-or-die attitude about destroying Israel. The list is endless, and we the people who just want to have a peaceful life watching our families grow, suffer along with the crazy people who apparently don't care.
Unfortunately, the next version of my book God for Atheists and Scientists will have plenty of more recent reasons why organized religions, superstition in general, and blind ideology, are curses to mankind.
JE comments: And in a few hours, we'll begin to see the political direction in the US for the next two years. Tomorrow I anticipate we'll have a lot to talk about.
